Welcome to our home and event space celebrating the arts in the historic Hôtel de Cours de Thomazeau.
Built in 1774 by the renowned architect Victor Louis — best known for designing the Grand Théâtre of Bordeaux — this elegant house reflects the sophistication and taste of the time. It belonged to the de Cours de Thomazeau family, who had grown wealthy from plantations in Martinique, and remained in their hands until 1964.
The wrought iron gate, both graceful and imposing, narrowly escaped being requisitioned during the French Revolution. Step inside, and you'll find two principal rooms adorned with exquisite carved woodwork, a majestic staircase, and two beautifully restored levels of vaulted cellars. One of these even holds a large rainwater cistern, still intact.
Registered as a historical monument in 1996, this house perfectly embodies the elegance, prosperity, and enduring mystery of Castillonnès in centuries past.
